Local artist featured in NH Art Association exhibit at the Currier Museum
of Art
Neva Austrew was accepted as a member of the New Hampshire Art Association
only this last September. As a new member of the organization, she is
proud to now have a painting accepted into the prestigious 58th Annual
New Hampshire Art Association Exhibition at the Currier Museum of Art.
This annual exhibition provides a unique opportunity for talented New
Hampshire artists, such as Austrew, to exhibit some of their best work,
at one of the countries finest small art museums. The exhibition, which
runs from Jan. 20 through Feb. 20 at the Currier Museum of Art, will
include paintings, drawings, and sculpture from many talented New Hampshire
artists.
Austrew’s painting is entitled “Saint Catherine” and
is painted with egg tempera on panel, with silver and gold leaf accents.
Saint Catherine of Alexandria was a patron saint of scholars and teachers.
Austrew’s painting of Saint Catherine shows her heavenly face,
ringed in a crown of silver, wearing beautiful, gold accented robes.
Austrew is a freelance artist, and has been creating art through her
business, N.E.V.A. or New Expressions of Visual Art, for the past four
years. She holds a BFA from Syracuse University in Illustration, and
has recently illustrated her first published children’s book,
entitled “Daddy’s Girl,” written by Breena Jacobs
and published by Bookworm Books. She also teaches art at the Kimball
Jenkins Estate in Concord.
Austrew is available for interviews, or artist appearances.
